An 11-days (10 nights) itinerary crossing Sicily from West to East. Immerse yourself into intense live of capital Palermo, steeped in history, architecture, culture and gastronomy. Cross the centre of the island visiting off-the-beaten-path towns of Enna and Piazza Armerina before arriving at Caltagirone, capital of ceramics. Discover the beauty of Baroque Modica, Ragusa, Noto and Syracuse. Finish your journey among Etna vineyards and vibrant festive nightlife in Catania



Day 1 - Welcome to Palermo | guided tour of old town

You will meet your driver at Palermo Airport and be transferred to your hotel, set in Palermo old town. After the welcome meeting with your local guide, according to your arrival time, you will have a guided tour of the old town. For your dinner, you will be spolied by choice, as there are plenty of Restaurants and Trattorias near your hotel.

Day 2 - visit to Monreale | Street Food Tour

After breakfast you will meet your guide who will accompany you to Monreale, where you will visit the majestic cathedral. Back to Palermo, you will enjoy a street food tour. Free evening where you can enjoy of a theatre show or a concert.

Day 3 - Gangi | Cheese Tasting | Enna

In the morning your driver will take you to Enna. You will have a stop at Gangi, on the Madonie where you will visit a local cheese maker and have lunch tasting their products. Head to Enna, you will arrive at your Agriturismo where you may rest before your dinner.

Day 4 - Guided visit Enna | Arancini Tasting | Villa Romana del Casale

In the morning your guide will take you on a tour of Enna. After visitng the Norman Castello Lombardia, you will walk to Torre Federico. Just in front, Rosario will welcome you at his Rosticceria where you will have a tasting of a selection of Arancini, probably the best in whole Sicily. In the afternoon, head to Piazza Armerina, where your guide will accompany you on a tour of the Villa Romana del Casale, with its precious mosaics. It is possible to stop at Piazza Armerina and have a dinner in the medieval town, before going back to the Agriturismo.

Day 5 - Caltagirone | Ceramic Workshop | Guided visit | Ragusa

In the morning, on your way to Modica, you'll have a stop at Caltagirone, the Sicilian capital of pottery. The Master Potter will welcome you to his workshop and offer a course where you will model your own piece of ceramic. You will also learn about the history related to the local pottery tradition. You may have lunch at a Michelin Starred Restaurant being delighted by Sicilian contemporary cuisine or at a local Trattoria. After a short visit of the town, filled with beautiful ceramics, you'll resume your travel and arrive at Modica. For your dinner you will be spoilt for choice as Modica has plenty of good restaurants.

Day 6 - Guided visit Ragusa Ibla | Visit Modica | Chocolate Tasting

In the morning you will visit fascinating Modica, with its stunning and magnificent Duomo di San Giorgio. The old town is divided into two parts, Modica Alta set on the ridge and Modica Bassa down in the valley. In between, the houses cling onto the steep slopes between the two parts of the city. During the visit you will stop at the oldest chocolate factory in Sicily, where you will have a delicious chocolate tasting. For lunch you will taste, in the local Rosticceria, Scacce and Pastizzi, typical of Modica. In the early afternoon you will discover charming Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla. In Ragusa you will visit two local artists who have recovered the traditional decoration of the Carretto Siciliano, the old ornate and coloured carts drawn by horses or donkeys. After, you will have a free evening in Ragusa Ibla.

Day 7 - Wine tasting | visit of Noto | Pastry Shop | Siracusa

On your way to Siracusa, you'll have a stop at the Noto Doc area, tasting the precious wines of a boutique winery. You'll have a light lunch together with the wine tasting. Afterwards you will ride to Noto, where you'll have a walk admiring the Baroque palazzos with their duzzling facades. Arriving at Siracusa, your driver will leave you at Ortigia where you'll check-in at your hotel. Free time to rest, have a free walk at your pace and have dinner where you please.

Day 8 - Morning visit Ortigia | Olive Oil Tasting | Teatro Pupi

In the morning you'll have a guided walk of Ortygia, that will end at the food market. You will then go to the outskirts of Syracuse, to visit an olive farm. You'll have a walk through the groves and have a professional taste of the oil. A homemade lunch will be served in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. Back to Syracuse, you will attend the Teatro dei Pupi show after wich you will have a free night on the island of Ortygia. Go for one of the amazing Greek theatre classical permormance (may/june) or have a walk on the romantic promenade along the sea.

Day 9 - Etna walk | Vineyard | Wine Tasting

Head to Mount Etna, you'll have a stop visiting a marvellous garden in a very fertile area South of Catania, where oranges are grown. You'll have a light lunch under the shadow of the magnificent trees. Then you'll resume the trip arriving at your hotel. After checking-in you'll visit the vineyard. Lunch will be served at the hotel.

Day 10 - Etna hike | Catania guided visit | Farewell Dinner

The last day will be a precious day of discovery of the Etna Volcano. Your nature guide will lead you on a hike, after which, you will enjoy a picnic lunch. You will then go to Catania where you'ill have your last night. A short walk through the city centre with your local guide before having your last dinner in Sicily.

Day 11 - Bye bye Sicily | Transfer to Catania Airport

According to the flight schedule, it is possible to organize an activity before the transfer to CT airport.
